What's the difference between adhesive and rod [stud] mounting?

Different products in our range use different mounting systems:

Rod [stud] mounting - our custom numbers and letters [100mm and above] and house number signs come with threaded fixing rods and spacers. Rods screw into the back of the number [no visible fixings from the front] and let you choose a flush mount or a floating mount with a shadow line. Best for walls, fences and masonry.

Adhesive mounting - our letterbox numbers and apartment and hotel door numbers come with die cut outdoor-rated adhesive tape. Peel and stick, no drilling - ideal for metal letterboxes and doors. Smaller custom numbers can also be glued directly with an outdoor rated epoxy.
