Tips for printing and using your installation template

Every custom order includes an installation template showing exactly where to drill. A few tips to get the best result:

Printing [if you've downloaded a template]: print at 100% scale ["actual size"] - don't use "fit to page" or the hole positions won't match your numbers. Larger numbers print across multiple pages - line up the alignment marks and tape the pages together before use.

Positioning: tape the template up with masking tape and use a spirit level to get it straight. One thing to watch: not every wall or fence is perfectly level, so on brick you may prefer to align with an exposed brick line rather than the level.

Tricky surfaces: on textured or powdery surfaces [eg Hebel or rough render] where tape struggles to stick, use longer strips of quality masking tape at the top corners, or have a second person hold the template while you mark the holes with a pencil before drilling.

Full instructions are on our installation instructions page, and if you strike any trouble, contact us - we can re-send templates any time.
