Can I use door numbers outdoors or on letterboxes?

Our apartment and hotel door numbers are designed for internal use: corridors, apartment doors, hotel rooms and lobby letterbox banks. Apartment letterbox banks are a popular application - the 50mm size suits them well, and the adhesive backing bonds to metal letterbox faces.
